The short version. We need your photo to generate a hairstyle on it. We delete it from our storage within 72 hours, we never use it to train a model, and we don't ask for your name, email or an account.
Who we are

What we collect
Photos you add
The selfie you upload, and — if you use the hairstyle extractor — the reference photo of a style you want to copy. Both are uploaded to our storage so the image model can read them, and both are deleted within 72 hours.
The generated result is also stored for up to 72 hours so you can come back to it. If you tap Save, a copy goes to your own device's photo library, and that copy is yours — we don't have it and we can't delete it.
A device identifier
The app generates a random identifier the first time you open it, so we can keep track of your generations and your subscription. It isn't your device's hardware ID, it isn't shared with anyone, and it doesn't identify you as a person. There is no account and no password.
Usage analytics
We record which screens are used and whether a generation succeeded or failed, so we can find what's broken. These events carry the random identifier above, never your photos.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, our subscription provider. We never see your card details. We're told only whether a subscription is active.
Who else sees your photos
To generate a result, your photo is sent to the third-party image model we use. It is processed to produce your image and is not retained by us beyond the 72-hour window described above.
Your photos are stored with a cloud storage provider on our behalf. We don't sell your photos or your data, and we don't share them with advertisers.
The 72-hour rule
Deletion is enforced by a lifecycle rule on the storage bucket itself, not by application code. That means it still happens if our servers are down, and it isn't something we have to remember to run.
We do not train on your photos
Your photos are never used to train, fine-tune or improve any model, ours or anyone else's.
Reference photos of other people
The hairstyle extractor lets you add a photo of a style you like, which often contains somebody else. That photo is treated exactly like your own: used only to produce your result, never shown to any other user, and deleted within 72 hours. Please only add photos you have the right to use.
Your choices
- Delete everything. Settings → Delete my data clears your answers and saved looks from the device and asks us to delete anything still in our storage.
- Stop sharing photos. Revoke camera or photo access in iOS Settings at any time. The app will still open; it just can't generate.
- Ask us anything. Email hello@piedrops.com and we'll tell you what we hold, which given the 72-hour rule is usually nothing.
Children
Hairstyle Try-On isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app, email us and we'll delete what we have.
Where your data is processed
Our storage and processing providers operate internationally, so your photo may be processed outside your own country during the short window it exists.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
